This
song is our first paid gig and it definitely is an exciting feeling getting paid to do what you enjoy the most. Maurice - the lead singer of Mo'Reece is also the events manager at Britomart and the way this gig came about was surprising.
We had filmed a couple of scenes at Britomart for 'Memories of Tomorrow' and I kept Maurice updated on the movie as my obligation to people who helped us out with the movie. After we completed the movie - I gave Maurice a copy of the movie and he really enjoyed it. I did not know that he was in a music band and one day I got a call out of the blue if I would be interested in directing the music video. The next thing I know I had a meeting with Richie, the record label producer - who saw the trailer of our movie and the previous music video which I had done for Gina and he gave us the gig.The video was shot over a 6 hour period over a friday night. The location was Britomart and Lance shot the video on his Panasonic DVX100a. It was a cruisy shoot with two of this year's students at South Seas Film School, Gils and Christoph helping out with the lighting at location record. I pulled in Phil Salt, another student at the school, to edit the video and once the cut was approved - i colour graded it.
Really simple concept and was pulled off with great difficulty. An overall fun experience.
